Deena Jo Heide-Diesslin Foundation Challenge Match Scholarship
The Deena Jo Heide-Diesslin Foundation was established in 2011 by David H. Diesslin, CFP®, former chair of the Board of Directors for CFP Board, to honor the memory of his late wife, Deena, with an emphasis on empowering women and other underrepresented populations through education.
When CFP Board launched the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning in late 2015, there was a natural synergy between the missions and visions of the two organizations that emerged during conversations with Mr. Diesslin. Building on Deena’s passion for empowering individuals through education, Dave seized the opportunity to make an impact in the financial planning profession while honoring the memory of his late wife. And with that, the Deena Jo Heide-Diesslin Foundation Challenge Match Scholarship at the CFP Board Center for Financial Planning was created.
About the Scholarship
This scholarship will directly advance workforce development by providing financial support to individuals from underrepresented populations seeking to complete requirements for CFP® certification. Individuals eligible for the scholarship will have demonstrated financial need, and/or represent underrepresented populations within the financial planning profession in terms of gender, race, ethnicity or sexual orientation. Scholarship recipients will be required to pass a background check prior to receiving their award.
How to Apply
How the Challenge Match Works
The foundation has issued a $100,000 Scholarship Challenge Match for individuals, organizations and businesses within the financial planning profession. Through the end of 2017, the Foundation will match all scholarship donations to the scholarship fund dollar-for-dollar. Gifts are eligible to be matched until the $100,000 Challenge Fund is fully committed.
